Metrolinx, the provincial body responsible for implementing transit investment in Ontario, Canada, published their commitment to CBA’s in their projects. This commitment includes four pillars: employment, local business support, community improvement, and public realm improvements. Their work on CBA’s began with the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT (light rail transit) and expanded to include other LRT projects. Since the start of this work, Metrolinx has created opportunities such as hiring 1,724 people in their projects with a total economic benefit of $171.2 million to local businesses and social enterprises.
