East Kootenay Community Investment Co-operative is one of six community investment cooperatives in British Columbia. East Kootenay believes that by diverting a small percentage of capital, if individuals routinely invest elsewhere into the cooperative, this will generate significant local investment power while simultaneously supporting local businesses.
East Kootenay Community Investment Co-operative finances businesses located in East Kootenay Columbia such as Elk Valley, Cranbrook-Kimberley, Columbia Valley-Golden, and Revelstoke. The members of the East Kootenay Investment Cooperative pool their money together to support businesses in their neighbourhoods that make a positive impact on the economic, environmental, and social aspects of their community.
