How our bodies store our experiences

We tend to think that our experiences are simply stored in our mind for processing later. What research has shown is that our bodies also store our experiences and respond to experiences in ways that are unique to us. For instance, one person may become violent while another may not while experiencing the same thing.

Bessel Van Der Kolk, Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University, explores this topic in his book “The Body Keeps Score”.
