Course description
The Environmental Control program provides students with specialized expertise and skills needed by employers in the environmental sector.
Student are knowledgeable in:
1. Environmental laws and regulations
2. Air pollution, energy and climate-change issues.
3. Environmental management systems, including ISO 14001.
4. Current methods for sampling, analysis and treatment of air, water, solid waste and hazardous waste streams.', 'What kind of projects can students assist with?
1. Implementing sustainable urban design practices
2. Assisting with environmental impact assessments and studies
3. Analyzing and managing air and water quality data
4. Developing waste reduction and recycling programs
5. Participating in green building and energy efficiency initiatives
6. Contributing to biodiversity conservation efforts
What kind of projects have students worked on in the past?
1. Carbon Sequestration Analysis and Tree Inventory project with the non-profit organization ACER (Association for Canadian Educational Resources).
2. Designed heat recovery systems using Onshape® CAD
3. Support process team on project deliverables.
